His, Mine and Ours.

Ahhhhhh, the age old prospect of blending our household. Keith and I have very different styles, and between our collections over the years of our furniture, art and accesories I am still on the hunt to find the perfect zen balance. I am currently on the hunt for a new kitchen table, something that will work well in our new home in DC (we PCS in July). I am thinking a pedastal type would likely be best, however, the one I've fallen in love with comes from Restoration Hardware with the bargain price tag of $2,359. It just looks so DCish!! However, I have learned those whom do not work do not get to demand ridiculously expensive tables.

Yeah, knowing full well it's not going to happen, I won't even ask. So, I am now prowling Craigslist in the local area attempting to find one I could refinish, distress and possibly paint. I have had excellent luck in the past scoring some excellent finds on CL. I usually have pretty good luck getting my husband to spring for good deals, and I think he will be pleased with me when I find a good project table. Shortly there after I will be listing our (his) former kitchen table and chairs on CL...while they are nice, I think they're PBarn, they just aren't really 'us.'

In addition to my newest hunt, I am feeling pretty pleased with myself as I have spent ((wasted)) nearly all afternoon on Pinterest (a whole new vortex of time suckage!!) and now have about 7 projects outlined for the next few weekends. My poor, poor husband. He will unsuspectingly come home on Monday from a Cross Country weekend (he flew to KY and FL in an F5) to find a gigantic list of things I will be asking him convincingly to do for me. His next 2 months worth of weekends are BOOKED! I have 2 projects planned for next weekend before my house guests arrive on the 15th. My guest rooms are nearly complete and I have my eye on a few new accesories from West Elm and Pottery Barn. Happy Saturday, and wish me luck on my quest to find my new-to-me table!!
